History
1805

Heinrich Moser is born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, into a family of watchmakers. 

1828

H. Moser & Cie. is founded in St. Petersburg, Russia.

1829

In order to maintain superior quality, Moser establishes a watch factory in Le Locle to produce watches exclusively for his businesses in Europe and Russia.

1848

Heinrich Moser returns to Schaffhausen to begin an era as an industrial pioneer.

1853

Heinrich Moser opens a workshop for the manufacture of watch cases in Schaffhausen, in addition to establishing a joint venture to develop local industry.

1864

Heinrich Moser’s dam and turbine in the Rhine are completed, supporting local industrial growth.

1918

H. Moser & Cie. is expropriated following the turmoil of the Russian Revolution.

1953

Production is expanded in Le Locle, Switzerland, and shifts from pocket watches to wristwatches.

1979

During the quartz watch crisis H. Moser & Cie. watch factory in Le Locle becomes part of the Dixi Mechanique Group.

2005

H. Moser & Cie. returns to the canton of Schaffhausen, where a new Manufacture is built.

2006

The Perpetual Calendar wins the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.

2007

At Baselworld 2007, H. Moser & Cie introduces the Straumann Hairspring®, developed jointly over several years with its associate company Precision Engineering AG, Schaffhausen.

2012

The Meylan family takes the helm of H. Moser & Cie.
